Hydra is a unique island in Greece - all mechanical means of transportation are completely prohibited here: cars, motorcycles and even bicycles! There are only two types of transport available: sea - in the form of ferries and ferry-taxis, in a matter of minutes ready to rush you with the breeze to any coast of the island; and a four-legged one - in the face of donkey laborers who are ready to take you slowly on their backs so that you can enjoy the piercingly clean air of the island!
Since the Middle Ages, Hydra was inhabited by fishermen and sailors, who with each generation became more and more professional seafarers and successful traders, thanks to which by the beginning of the 19th century they began to call Hydra "Little England" - such a large number of rich shipowners for such a small island.
