Lorenzo the Magnificent (1449-1492) was a member of the House of Medici, a powerful Florentine family. Lorenzo, patron of the arts, supported Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. The photograph shows Lorenzo in the forest. Often enjoying hunting in the rich Tuscan countryside, Lorenzo could be seen daydreaming in a forest clearing with a fox resting over his shoulder. His costumes were adorned with pearls and precious stones, symbolizing the rich history of the Medici merchant class.
