Born and raised alongside her fiery red sister Lina in a temperate climate, Rylai soon realized that her innate unity with the ice element was causing everyone around her a lot of trouble. Springs and mountain rivers froze when she stopped to rest near them; ripening fruits suffered from frostbite, and blooming hanging gardens fell to the ground in a few seconds in a mosaic of ice. When the desperate parents decided to resettle the fiery Lina to the equator, then Rylai also changed her place of residence - her new home was the cold lands of Aisrek, where she was sheltered by the ice magician, who settled himself on the crown of the Bluhart glacier. After many years of training, the magician recognized Rylai as capable of practicing her skills alone, and left her his post - and he himself descended into the depths of the glacier for a thousand-year hibernation. Since then, Crystal Maiden has seriously honed her skills, and no one can compare with her.
