Maneki-neko - (literally "Inviting Cat", "Alluring Cat", "Calling Cat"; also known as "Happiness Cat", "Money Cat" or "Fortune Cat") is a common Japanese sculpture, often made of porcelain or ceramics which is believed to bring good luck to its owner. The sculpture depicts a cat with its paw raised vertically, and is usually exhibited in shop windows, restaurants, pachinko rooms, warehouses and other places. A cat that lifts its right paw attracts money, luck, and lifts its left paw attracts customers.
