Museum estate "Polenovo"
Russian artist Vasily Dmitrievich Polenov wrote - “... this summer he built himself a workshop, but for some reason it turned out to be an abbey. Nevertheless, I am unspeakably pleased: the window is huge, the light is wonderful. I dreamed about it all my life, but now I somehow can't believe it. "
Polenov carefully thought out the layout of the Abbey and the purpose of all the premises. In the studio itself, a huge north-facing window gives the diffused light that the painter needs. During Polenov's lifetime, the Abbey was his favorite place to work and rest. In the Abbey, Vasily Dmitrievich lived in the summer, having arranged for himself a small room there.
