Ivan Kotlyarevsky's Aeneid is one of the brightest works in Ukrainian literature, written in a distinctive folk language, conjuring up a fantastic and at the same time such a real world of Greek gods and heroes with Ukrainian characters. A mixture of eras and cultures, theatricality, burlesque and nativity scene, at the same time a real encyclopedia of folk customs, customs and life of the 18th century, this is what Kotlyarevsky's Aeneid is.
