The candle tower, located in the northeastern corner of the wall of the Borisoglebsk monastery, was built in 1809. It is a picturesque building that stands out clearly against the background of other monastic buildings by the originality of architecture and the richness of decorative design.
The Candle Tower used to be a monastery library, in which, according to unconfirmed reports, the writer N.M. Karamzin worked on his "History of the Russian State".
