The Guestrow Castle is located in the town of Guestrow and is considered one of the most significant Renaissance buildings in northern Germany. Famous architects, including Italian and Dutch, participated in its construction. The castle passed from hand to hand, repeatedly burned, but was quickly restored. It is currently a branch of the Schwerin State Museum.
