Eisden Castle is located on the Meuse River in the Dutch province of Limburg. It is a National Cultural Monument and is in the top 100 Dutch UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The present castle was built in 1636 and rebuilt a century later; its main reconstruction took place at the end of the 19th century. It consists of two diametrically opposed wings and several towers. In the 19th century, a park was laid out around the castle, designed by a French landscape architect. The magnificent park features a pond, sculptural group, terraces, busts, vases and more. For over a century, Eisden has belonged to the Geloss family, who passed it down and who own the castle today.
