Maria Nikolaevna is the daughter of the Russian Emperor Nicholas I and the sister of Alexander II, the first mistress of the Mariinsky Palace in St. Petersburg. Married - the Duchess of Leuchtenberg. President of the Imperial Academy of Arts in 1852-1876.
