50 kilometers northeast of Moscow, in the ancient village of Sofrino, there is a stone church of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God.
The temple is a monument of Russian architecture, built in the Moscow baroque style. Its history goes back to the 17th century. At that time, there were two churches in the village: a wooden parish and a stone house in the chambers of the owner - boyar F.P. Saltykov.
Only the stone Smolensk Church with late extensions, a lime park, ponds have survived to this day
