The Kolomna Kremlin is the most important historical and cultural monument of Kolomna, formed in the XIV-XIX centuries. It covers an area of 24 hectares and is surrounded by fragments of the fortress wall and preserved towers. Erected in 1525-1531 according to the project of Italian craftsmen, the fortress wall originally consisted of 17 towers (of which four were passable) and had a length of 1938 meters. The height of the walls reached from 18 to 21 meters, the thickness - from 3 to 4.5 meters. Currently, there are 7 Kremlin towers.
The Kolomna Kremlin has a rich history, dating back to the 14th - 19th centuries, and a rich modern cultural life today. It is not for nothing that the Kolomna Kremlin was chosen as the center for celebrating the City Day in Kolomna and the All-Russian festival of folk art "Family of Russia"!
