Izmailovsky Island is a unique corner of Moscow, where the remains of the Tsar's residence of the 17th century are located, at present it is the Izmailovo Estate Museum.
In the background, behind the bridge tower, are visible the buildings of the Nikolaev military almshouse, which were attached to the Intercession Cathedral (domes are visible) after the war of 1812. Initially, the buildings were two-storied, later they were built on.
