Valentina Smolenskaya is one of the leading masters of miniature painting. While still working at the Fedoskino factory in a creative group, under the leadership of the people's artist G.I. Larisheva, in her works she introduced new, very individual compositions into the canonical style of Fedoskino, solving the problems of tradition and modernity, the experience of generations and today's searches.
The artist's rich inner world allowed her to create a gallery of images drawn from Russian history, literature, Slavic and Scandinavian mythology and from her own fantasies and ideas.
