City Palace circa 1750 Potsdam City Palace (German Potdamer Stadtschloss) is the winter residence of the electors and kings of Brandenburg-Prussia (and later the German emperors) in the center of Potsdam. Built in 1662-1669, the palace was extensively rebuilt in 1744-1752. according to the baroque tastes of Frederick the Great (architect - Georg Wenceslaus von Knobelsdorf).
