You can get into the spirit of a real French castle of the 18th century 15 kilometers from Metz, in the town of Pange. Here, on the banks of the Nid River, in 1720, de Panj's mansion was erected. The austere and at the same time graceful castle was built on the site of a destroyed medieval fortress for the royal treasurer Jean-Baptiste Louis, who later received the title of Marquis de Pange.
The descendants of the founder of the castle still live in the three-story mansion, but you can still get inside and admire the luxurious interiors of the 18th century. The castle is surrounded by a magnificent garden with centuries-old oak and linden trees, neatly trimmed bushes and vibrant flower beds. Adjacent to the Chateau de Pange is a small 19th century church famous for its amazing stained glass windows.
