Hemelschenburg Castle is considered a masterpiece of the Weser Renaissance, with its art collection, gardens, water mill, agricultural buildings and church building. This is one of the most beautiful Renaissance castles in Germany. The predecessor of this castle stood on a hill, but with the advent of artillery and the loss of the castle walls of their defensive significance, a new castle was built - closer to the valley, in the style of the Weser Renaissance. It happened at the end of the 16th century. From the moment of its foundation to the present day, the castle has been in the possession of one family. Since 1973, Hemelschenburg Castle, as a private museum, is partially accessible to tourists.
