The cartoon "Balto" was released in 1995. It is based on real events that took place in Alaska in 1935 - then the Balto sled dog managed to deliver serum from diphtheria and save the lives of the children of the whole town.
The famous director Steven Spielberg and the director of the London Symphony Orchestra James Horner, who wrote the music, took part in the creation of the cartoon "Balto". Balto himself in the American version of the cartoon was voiced by the popular film actor Kevin Bacon, and his girlfriend Jenna was voiced by the equally popular actress Bridget Fonda.
