Temple of the Holy Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky

There are many interesting places in Latgale. One of them is the city of Gulbene, whose name comes from the Latvian word "gulbis" - a swan.
Not far from the city, on the shore of the lake, there is a beautiful Orthodox church. The unusually clean, light temple is decorated with crystal crosses and glorious legends tell about the deeds of people who are not stingy with help.

The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral was built in 1904 by Baron Gottlieb von Wolf in honor of his wife, Princess Sophia Potemkina. This temple has an interesting feature - its openwork crosses are made of metal and Ural rock crystal, which shimmer in the sun with all the colors of the rainbow, like wonderful stars. There are no other such people anywhere.
