This "golden castle" (as it is sometimes called) is known to many residents of Kislovodsk, according to the legend passed from mouth to mouth, as the dacha of Kshesinskaya, which, allegedly, was presented to the famous ballerina and friend of his youthful years Nicholas II.
In fact, the history of the famous dacha is quite far from the widespread legend. It was built in 1905 by Anton Ivanovich Tvalchrelidze, who at that time was an inspector of public schools in the Stavropol province.
Matilda Feliksovna Kshesinskaya (1872 - 1971, Paris) is a renowned Russian ballerina and teacher. Honored Artist of His Majesty of the Imperial Theaters.
