Christians began decorating Christmas trees only 500 years after the custom of decorating houses at Christmas with the tree itself appeared. And the first decorations were apples - the fruits of Adam and Eve, and a little later - roses, since the rose is a symbol of the Virgin Mary.
Maybe that's why glass balls painted with Zhostovo fruits and flowers will look so natural on the New Year tree of the early 21st century.
