Art and animals are the two passions of Dean, a New York-based artist who uses pop art's vibrant colors and bold abstract patterns to give voice to his favorite objects and animals. Dean grew up in a house filled with art supplies and began drawing cartoon characters from an early age. After studying graphic design and fine arts at the School of Visual Arts and the Pratt Institute, Dean began to paint, mostly portraits of celebrities, but his two cocker spaniels were his biggest inspirations.
Dean starts his paintings with the eyes, because the eyes are the most expressive part of life.
Most of his works are associated with the image of dogs, with pit bulls - he considers them the most incomprehensible breed.
Dean Russo Art - The studio has an animal rescue goal, and has participated in charity auctions, donations and fundraising events to help animals.
