Gysbrecht Leytens (1586 - 1643 or 1656) is a Flemish landscape painter of the early Baroque era. He became famous for his portrayal of winter landscapes, although he painted others. Considered one of the least studied Flemish artists of the Antwerp School. Geisbrecht Leitens is not the only artist who created paintings with winter landscapes, but he turned to this topic more often than others, carefully observed winter nature and birds and developed an individual style that distinguished him from the philosophical generalizations of Pieter Bruegel the Elder or cozy details and finds Lucas van Falkenborch. The trees in his paintings are usually depicted as covered with snow and often have a strange shape. Branches of bare trees are replete with images of various birds. Perhaps the artist's creative manner was influenced by the paintings of the era of Dutch Mannerism.
