The monument "Worker and Collective Farm Woman" is the standard of monumental art of the Soviet era. But unlike the standard sculptures of that time, the Worker and Kolkhoz Woman monument has become truly legendary.
The author of the sculpture is Mukhina V.I.
The sculpture demonstrates two people - a boy and a girl, whose vivid image has become a real masterpiece, and the graphic image - the emblem of the Soviet and later the Russian film industry of Mosfilm.
The famous monument was created and first opened for display in 1937 at the World Exhibition in Paris for the Soviet pavilion; upon returning, it is located in front of VDNKh so that it is visible from any point on the highway.
From 2003 to 2009, the restoration process was underway, after which the masterpiece monument was returned to its original place, in the pedestal-pavilion of which the exhibition museum of the outstanding sculptor V.I.Mukhina is located.
