Klopp castle

Klopp Castle - located on a hill in the city of Bingen, is one of the oldest castles in the Middle Rhine region, but most of its medieval buildings, alas, have not survived to this day. The Roman fort was rebuilt and destroyed several times. It was last blown up by its own garrison in 1711, making it unusable for the French troops. At the end of 19 was restored. From the observation tower you can see the most beautiful Niederwald monument - a national monument in memory of the unification of Germany in 1871. The castle has a restaurant where you can relax and have a good meal.
