The Cotswolds are located on a hilly ridge in western England. Cotswold is the name of one of the species of English sheep, which gave the name of the area. The architecture of the Cotswolds is made in the same style from honey-colored limestone, which is mined here. Aging, this stone takes on a grayish tint. Having become rich in the wool trade, merchants built elegant houses and churches, which they called wool churches.
