Temple of a Thousand Columns
This is the largest monastic library in the world. The building was built in 1776 according to the sketches of the famous Austrian architect Joseph Heber. The ceiling of the building consists of seven domes with frescoes by Bartolomeo Altomonte, which illustrate all stages of human knowledge: from the darkness of ignorance to the highest point - divine revelation. Light passes through 48 windows and reflects off the incredible beauty of the marble floor.
