Stone mushrooms

This amazing rock formation is located in southern Bulgaria, in the Rhodope Mountains. It is located right on the road between the towns of Haskovo and Kardzhali. At first glance, it may seem that you really see real huge mushrooms - after all, even in color they amazingly resemble real ones - grayish-greenish hats and pink legs. The natural formation covers an area of 3 hectares, and the mushrooms themselves are of almost the same height - about 3 meters.
Scientists explain the appearance of stone mushrooms as a result of centuries-old influence of external natural factors on the rock.
But there is a beautiful and sad legend about all such natural phenomena. She says that the mushrooms are four sisters who saved their city from invaders with their lives. In the morning, dewdrops appear on the stones - these are the tears of girls who yearn for their loved ones.
