The Vacheron Constantin Metiers d'Art collection series presents models designed exclusively for the fair sex. The theme of the trilogy: botanical illustrations of 19th century England, images for miniatures are taken from the book by Robert John Thornton The Temple of Flora ("Sanctuary of Flora"), published in 1799. Thornton was a follower of Carl Linnaeus and devoted his life to finding and sketching rare plants.
The tulip, which grew at the foot of the Himalayas, soon conquered the entire Ottoman Empire. No other flower has so much enthralled humanity to such a manic degree with its variety of shades when crossed.
