Klyuchevskaya Sopka is the highest volcano in Kamchatka and the largest active volcano in Eurasia. Its height after the last eruption is 4835m. Among the volcanoes of Eurasia, the Klyuchevskoy volcano is second only to the Karymskaya volcano, located a little to the south in its activity. The first known eruption was in 1737, the last in 2013. In total, 22 eruptions of Klyuchevskaya Sopka are known.
In 1996, the volcanoes of Kamchatka were included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
