Nevertheless, the independent Kubachi masters became known from the works of the Arab historian Al-Masudi, who lived in the 10th century. According to his stories, on the territory of the present aul of Kubachi there lived artisans - chain mail, who made not only chain mail, excellent in their protective properties, but also the best military weapons. This is where the name "Kubachi" came from, which in translation from Turkish means "weapons craftsmen" or "kolchuzhniki".
