Pieter Bruegel the Elder "Tower of Babel" diptych, part 1
The journey of the cat Zarathustra through the paintings of great artists.
How to make legendary paintings by famous artists even better? Just add a cat. The creator of the art project Svetlana Petrova, the happy owner of a ginger cat weighing about 10 kg named Zarathustra, decided to change the usual ideas about the masterpieces of painting, replacing the dull talk about classical art with a fresh look at the work of great authors. She makes collages in Photoshop, placing Zarathustra on famous paintings of all times.
The main character of these works is the cat Zarathustra. It is he who becomes the living embodiment of the idea that cats are a guide to the world of art. Looking at the pictures with Zarathustra, a person recognizes the name of the original, begins to read the author's biography. Thus, he plunges deeper and deeper into the environment of classical painting.
In July, an exposition with works by Svetlana Petrova was opened in St. Petersburg as part of the Graffest art forum. The author plans to restore 853 paintings.
