Vasnetsov Viktor Mikhailovich (1848-1926) -
the great Russian artist, one of the founders of Russian Art Nouveau in its national-romantic version.
"Ivan Tsarevich on the gray wolf", this fabulous work, Vasnetsov wrote in 1889 in Kiev, when he was working in the Vladimir Cathedral.
The plot of the picture is a fairy-tale theme borrowed from Russian folk tales.
