Serafimo-Znamensky Women's Skete.
The site for the construction of the skete was chosen in the Samoilovsky forest, on a hill on the right bank of the Rozhaika River among the ancient Slavic burial mounds. The skete was founded in 1910 by the schema-goumenia Famaria (Madzhanishvili 1868 - 1936), who was a Georgian princess before she was ordained, with the participation of Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna Romanova.
The central place in the skete is occupied by a church built in the early 20th century in the style of Pskov-Novgorod architecture. It is crowned with 24 kokoshniks - according to the number of apocalyptic elders. The fence of the skete is 33 sazhens - according to the number of years of Christ's life. There were also 33 sisters according to the charter. In the fence there are 12 houses-cells - according to the number of the Apostles. Each house bears the name of its Apostle.
The Seraphim-Znamensky skete existed for only 12 years. It was closed by the Bolsheviks in 1924; began to revive in 2000
