Ukraine, village Moshny, Cherkasy region
The Transfiguration Church was built in 1830-1840. the city architect of Odessa, the Italian Giorgio Torricelli, commissioned by Count M.S. Vorontsov. Despite the oriental decor, the construction of the church adhered to the principles of the Orthodox "domed cross": the lateral branches of the cross are greatly shortened, and the central one is lengthened. In the fashion of the 19th century. the temple is connected into a whole with a 50-meter bell tower. Above the middle cross is the largest, east-flattened dome. Numerous graceful turrets add a special charm to the building.
The village of Moshny was first mentioned in 1494 in a deed of gift from the Grand Duke of Lithuania Alexander in the 19th century. In 1830, it was in the possession of Count M. Vorontsov, who carried out vigorous construction activities there. The architecture of the built church is very similar to the Vorontsov Alupka Palace
