Lesley Anne Ivory was born in Bedfordshire, UK.
After studying textile design and typography, she worked as an art teacher for several years. Her first works were printed on the business cards of the Oxfam charity. Then gradually her images of wildlife, but especially cats, began to appear on cards of various ranks. Today Leslie Ann Ivory is one of the most beloved and famous feline artists, whose portraits have become an adornment in many homes and collections. Every cat lover should know her pictures. Her cat paintings have become phenomenally popular all over the world. Drawn cats of the artist adorned not only business cards, but also calendars, gift stationery, various ceramic products, clocks, photo frames, they could also be seen in books. Leslie uses mostly watercolors and gouache. A distinctive feature of her style is the realistic images of cats on backgrounds, consisting of many details and patterns.
