An amazing Victorian garden, Biddulph Grunge was designed by James Bateman (1811-1897), a gardener and landowner. In fact, it is a botanical garden. Biddulph Grange Garden consists of several branches connected to each other by alleys and tunnels, each with its own theme and corresponding plants. The most beautifully played theme is the Chinese garden. There is also an Egyptian garden, an Italian garden, an ash alley and more. In 1988, the National Trust took over the property and the gardens, which are now almost completely restored.
