Bojnice Castle is one of the oldest and most valuable monuments in Slovakia. Built on a hill, it rises above the surrounding town of Bojnice in the western part of the country.
For ten centuries, the castle managed to be in the possession of the tycoon and the most influential person in the country, the king and his illegitimate son, as well as a number of very noble and famous families of Slovakia, until it was sold to a private company in 1939, and in 1950 it was turned into a museum ...
Four times, following the fashionable trends of art, the castle was rebuilt, while it was never destroyed, but only completed or altered. As a result, today in a small Slovak town at the foot of the Strazhovskie Hills there is a beautiful castle, one of the oldest in Europe, which has absorbed all the best from French romanticism.
