Monte Palace is the main attraction of Madeira, along with the diverse and exotic nature of the island. The palace was built in the 18th century. Then the owner of the island was the English consul Charles Murray. He named the estate he built for himself Quinta do Prazer. The last emperor of Austria-Hungary, Charles I, who was in exile after the First World War, spent the last days of his life here. Currently, it houses a museum, where sculptures and a rich collection of minerals are exhibited. But tourists are especially attracted by the observation deck of the palace at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level. From here you can enjoy picturesque views of the Atlantic Ocean and the capital of Madeira - Funchal.
