Today it is the republican sanatorium "Kiritsy" for children with extrapulmonary forms of tuberculosis
The von Derviz estate in Kiritsy is one of the many surprises of the Ryazan region, refuting the banal idea of the quiet Yesenin beauty of central Russia.
The castle-palace on a gentle hill, surrounded by a shady park, rose in 1887-89. The construction of the estate was supervised by Fyodor Osipovich Shekhtel by order of Sergei Pavlovich von Derviz - the son of an industrialist and philanthropist, the head of the construction of the Moscow-Ryazan railway Pavel Grigorievich von Derviz. From 1892 to 1907, a palace and park ensemble was formed, striking with the beauty of architecture, but even more - with its organic connection with nature. In Russian architecture, the early work of Fyodor Shekhtel "Kiritsky Castle" stands at the origins of the "modern" style. Not everything has survived, but what remains of the former luxury makes an indelible impression.
