Germany. Dick Castle in Juchen, which is 25 kilometers from Dusseldorf, is the former noble estate of the Count and Prince Salm-Reifferscheidt-Dyck. The imposing Dyck Castle, surrounded by a moat, is considered one of the most significant cultural monuments in the Lower Rhine and has a history of almost 1000 years. The first mentions of the castle date back to 1094. A simple fortification grew into a strong fortress with water lines. The Dick Castle complex is located on four islands. Today, some of the premises in the east wing are accessible as a museum. The park surrounding the castle deserves special attention as an example of landscape architecture of the 18th century. In addition to wonderful lawns and reservoirs, you can see the Historical Park, greenhouses, and a children's playground. At the same time, the garden is laid out in the English style, with lush lawns and living creatures: here you will see peacocks and swans and ducks walking peacefully.
