St. Andrew's Church is often called the swan song of the outstanding master of Russian architecture Bartolomeo Rastrelli. St. Andrew's Church was built by order of Empress Elizabeth Petrovna.
This church has a unique location. ... It rises on one of the steep slopes of the Starokievskaya mountain. The foundation of the church, or rather, a kind of foundation, is a powerful square two-story building. There is a temple on it in the center, and the roof of the building (it turns out like this) is such a terrace - an observation deck.
