In the legends of the Knights of the Round Table, Guinevere is always compared to Helena of Troy, since both beauties brought misfortune to those who loved them. The beauty of the queen made Arthur's nephew, Sir Mordred, in the absence of the king, capture Camelot and force Queen Guinevere to marry him and renounce King Arthur.
