The Trinity Cathedral is part of the ensemble of the State Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve "Aleksandrovskaya Sloboda". Aleksandrovskaya Sloboda is an ancient Russian fortress, the capital of the oprichnina of the Russian kingdom in 1564-1581. Trinity Cathedral (1513) - the palace temple of the royal residence, the most grandiose and majestic building of Alexandrova Sloboda. Within these walls, socially important, politically significant events took place - Ivan IV the Terrible got married with his third wife Martha Sobakina and his fifth wife Anna Vasilchikova, his son Ivan Ivanovich with Evdokia Saburova. Outside and inside the temple is decorated with white stone carvings. In the interior there is a fresco painting of the 16th century. In the portals of the temple - the trophies of Tsar Ivan IV - austere copper Tver gates (XIV century) and solemn "golden" Novgorod doors (1336).
