For two decades Andrei Cherkasov has been creating his own special, very interesting world. The beloved Russian province was born from memories and is fueled by images of childhood.
"Village" with new stone buildings of merchant houses and noble estates gradually acquired the status of "Town" ..., with a market, a station, and new, urban characters of the inhabitants. It began with separate independent and functional items: caskets, shtoffs, bottles and just figurines in the form of village houses, which could be combined into small groups. From the very beginning, these were not images of some real buildings, but rather a collective image, memories of the Russian province. A new city appeared on the table, but the same as hundreds and hundreds of Russian ones. And everyone, being away from the capital, recognizes in him something familiar from childhood. And the inhabitants of this city could be found everywhere - two hundred years ago and five: women and old men, girls and boys, workers and children, priests and drunks, bar and peasants, dogs, horses, geese ... And if in their faces some of the characters are guessed at the features of Tolstoy or Gogol, then only because both Tolstoy and Gogol are from the same test as Ivan Ivanovich and Marya Petrovna.
