6 scroll (6)
Wang Hui was one of the most prominent painters of the traditional Chinese school, whose members dedicated themselves to preserving traditional Chinese culture, returning the canon of the former Chinese masters.
In China, scroll scrolls have survived as a format for artists who wanted to create long narratives, and in particular long landscape scenes.
Wang Hui first created a series of scroll designs. These draft scrolls were presented to the emperor for approval. After the official approval, the artist was given silk and expensive mineral paints.
A whole team of artists worked on the scroll, led by Wang Hui.
His team of subordinates included experienced artists whom he hired and brought to the capital to complete this project. All of these artists were trained to paint in a style that matched his own.
