6 scroll (4)
Each scroll-scroll measures over 68 cm in height and nearly 30 meters in length. The whole set took about 8 years of painstaking work. If you put all the scrolls together, it will be more than three football fields in length. These scrolls are a spectacular documentary of the emperor's inspection trips in a rich color palette, with vivid detail. The scrolls can be used to follow the entire inspection path of the emperor practically from beginning to end: from Beijing in the north, along the Grand Canal, crossing the Yellow and Yangtze rivers, through all the provinces of the south - Yangzhou, Nanjing, Suzhou, and Hangzhou. Each of the twelve scrolls is one segment of the path, one of the subject.
