The State House for the Disabled is an architectural monument, the construction of which was started by order of Louis XIV in 1670 for honored army veterans (war invalids). It was one of the first invalid homes in Europe. Today it still accepts disabled people, and also houses several museums and a military necropolis. Among others, Napoleon is buried here in six coffins, who played a very important role in the life of both Paris itself and France as a whole.
