Mortre Castle (Chateau d'Eau)

Château d'Eau Castle is located in close proximity to Mortre, France. It is located between the two most important cities of Lower Normandy - Argentan and Alenson. It is only a few hours away from the French capital. The castle was built in the 15th century on the remains of a fortress destroyed during the 100-year war, as the family chateau of the French king Charles VIII. After numerous restorations, the castle is a mixture of Gothic, Renaissance, modern architectural elements and is open to tourists.
