Church of St. Nicholas on the waters

This is the first and only in Ukraine (Kiev) Orthodox church built on water. Better known as the Temple of St. Nicholas on the Waters. It is located in Podol, fifteen meters from the coast, and a small bridge connects it to the land. It was built in 2004 on the initiative of Ukrrichflot and named after Nicholas the Wonderworker, as it is believed that St. Nicholas is the patron saint of sailors, children and merchants. The temple was erected in memory of those killed at sea.
